Yes! It is photography
An exhibition by Enric Mads
The exhibition "Máscara" is inspired....
The exhibition "Máscara" Is inspired by the many faces I see - in my photographs. Faces can be anything we see to something we pretend. Religious Gods, wizards/witches, The Devil, aliens, saints, wild animals, ancient kings/queens, etc. All with a blank expression on their faces. Some of them are a little scary - not smiling.
Like a mask at a carnival.
A mask hides who you are and gives you a new identity. A mask that can bring out your true self, -to the person you would like to be. A mask we use to impress. A mask for work or with people we do not know.
The combination of my photographs with the many facial expressions and my inspiration from the Rorschach's 10 psychological test cards was a good starting point for this exhibition and a name. Máscara.
Hermann Rorschach's cards are a psychological test to investigate our subconscious. Hermann Rorschach was a psychologist who used art as a diagnostic tool. From the test subject's responses, a psychologist can analyze and understand what the person is really like.

“Máscara” Un viaje a tu interior. Una exposición de Enric Mads
The exhibition hall “El Aljibe de Haría” is located in the town of Haría. The Gallery is in an old cistern that was formerly used to capture and store water for the city in times when water was a scarce commodity.
Now it houses temporary exhibitions of art. Access to the room is down a staircase under the city.
The old cistern is about 200m2 and organized around a floor-length glass skylight that provides natural light and ventilation to the room. The flooring is made of wood and basalt stone edges, which provides not only aesthetic beauty but also aeration of the floor.
